Clean water should not depend on where you were born or where you had to flee to. In many refugee settlements and poor urban areas, families walk long distances for water or pay more than they can afford. YAREN works with these communities to make sure their needs are heard. This is a community programme, so there is no application.
What we do
- Listen to communities and record the water problems they face
- Bring refugees, host communities, local leaders and water providers into the same room
- Push for fair prices and reliable water points
- Teach community members how to raise water issues with the right offices
World Water Day 2023
In 2023, YAREN hosted a World Water Day dialogue with 120 people, including government officials, partners and community members. It was shown on national television, giving refugee voices a place in the national conversation about water.
