From refugee initiative to lasting impact.

In 2017, YAREN Organisation began as a small initiative led by refugees determined to create change within their own communities. What started with simple community actions in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement has grown into a movement that empowers refugees and vulnerable communities through education, entrepreneurship, health, and humanitarian support.

A word from our founder

Founder's note

Muganuzi Mushongole Adonis, founder and Executive Director of YAREN
My journey from community peacebuilding in South Kivu to rebuilding life as a refugee in Uganda shaped YAREN's belief in dignity, practical opportunity and local leadership. We work so refugees and vulnerable communities can turn their skills, ideas and determination into self-reliant futures.
